Long time no see.

So I've been super busy with school and midterms so I haven't had much time to blog. I have two more tests today, then one more class tomorrow, and then freedom! I'm not doing anything exciting over break; originally, I had planned to go to Florida with some friends, although we did not necessarily plan to hit any parks while we were there. But I'm pretty much dead broke, so I decided it wouldn't be very smart to spend what little money I have on going to Florida when I'll be moving there in two months. So instead, it's time to sit back, relax, and enjoy this 30°/blizzard weather here in Cleveland :/

I also have some good news (that I received weeks ago but never blogged about). My good friend Andrew, who I met on the 2009 Maverick crew, was also accepted for Fall Attractions! He's not doing Fall Advantage because he's going back to Cedar Point this summer--he's been hired for the new ride, Shoot the Rapids (Cedar Point tells you your ride location at the time that you're hired, not when you show up). But Andrew was really lucky because he only put one role down, and when they asked him to add more roles on during his interview he politely declined. (Lucky punk.) So anyway, I'm really looking forward to having one of my great friends down there with me come August.

Although I'm really excited to visit all of the Disney parks once I become a Cast member--especially since I've never been there!--I also plan on visiting a lot of other places in the area while I'm living in Orlando. I definitely plan on getting a Busch Gardens Tampa/SeaWorld season pass (can't wait to ride Manta!!), and I'm also definitely getting a Universal season pass. I also plan on venturing further out from Orlando and seeing what kind of coasters and parks I can visit within a decently large radius from Orlando. This off-season nonsense is killing me...I need my coaster fix!

In other news, I was matched with my roommate yesterday. She seems like a really cool girl; laid back, likes to have fun, doesn't put up with crap...sounds like the perfect roommate for me haha. I'm hoping to live in Vista Way because I'm the type of person who always likes to have something to do and always like to have people to hang out with. Also, I'm trying to save as much money as possible while I'm on the CP, and Vista is the cheapest, so there's that. Anyone else under 21 interested in living in Vista? ;) let me know.

And, finally--ONLY 76 DAYS LEFT!! :D

PURPLE EMAIL

Whoo hoo! I've been accepted!

Fall Advantage, and in Attractions, my first choice!

I feel so blessed right now. And more than anything else, I'm grateful for my parents' support. I know so many people who are not as lucky as I am to have such an amazing support system, and I could not be any happier than I am right now :D

Congrats to everyone else who got in today, and good luck to those who are still waiting. Find some way to distract yourself--it really does help. And try not to stress too much, I'm sure it will all work out for the best!

Well, I got the email about 3 hours ago and I'm still completely giddy. I don't know how I'm going to focus on classes until May...sheesh. I've got to get to class now...wish me luck on trying not to daydream about Disney too much ;)

Peace.

Meh

I just finished watching Hoarders. Anyone else love this show? It's completely disgusting and utterly disturbing, but it's definitely a guilty pleasure that I just can't resist.

I've also recently become a fan of Big Love--polygamy at its finest. And you gotta love Margie.

So yeah, tons of fun stuff to talk about in this blog... (Clearly, sarcasm.)

I am currently downloading Johnny Tsunami. God bless the person who invented torrenting. So, yeah, funtimes are sure to ensue once that's done downloading.

It's also snowing here in Cleveland again. I actually love this weather, and I'm sick of every single status on Facebook being about how much people hate the snow. Snow is definitely one thing that I would miss in Florida. The only bad thing about this weather is that you have to make sure you have enough gas in your car's tank...or else the little bit of gas that's left in the tank may freeze (oh yeah, that was a fun night. My car got stuck in some stranger's driveway, and my car was blocking hers so she's couldn't leave for an appointment that she had. My B.)

Still waiting for my purple email...definitely not stressing out about it though. My interviewer told me 4-6 weeks, so there's no point in me refreshing my email every 5 seconds, hoping for something from Disney to show up. When it comes, it comes. I can't do anything to speed up time.

I'm also thinking of starting a vlog...but something very different from the ones I've seen others have been making. I've got a few ideas, I'll just have to enlist the help of my roommate. We'll see, check back in the next couple of days to see if I posted a vlog yet, if not, harass me.

Stay positive guys, but also stay sane, really, before I witness a fight break out between people over a wall post in the Facebook group.

Peace

Why, hello there.

So, the basics--
  • I'm Ashley.
  • I applied for the Fall Advantage 2010 WDWCP.
  • I'm really hoping for a role in Attractions.
  • I interviewed on January 29.
  • And, prepare yourself for this one--I've never actually been to Disney World.
Want to know some stuff about me? Sure you do!

Well, I'm a sophomore at Baldwin-Wallace College; it's this itty bitty little place right outside of Cleveland, Ohio. I'm an Early Childhood Education major--I love kids. Like I said, I've never been to Disney before, mainly because my parents wanted to wait until all of my siblings were old enough to truly enjoy and remember the trip, but they kept having kids! I'm the oldest of five, three little sisters and a younger brother.

My true passion is roller coasters. I worked at Cedar Point this past summer as a ride host on Maverick. If you've never been to Cedar Point, or you've never heard of Maverick, then you're truly missing out. The best part of my job was definitely the test rides--every single day that I worked an opening shift on Maverick I got to test ride. I worked on the best ride there--you can debate the awesomeness of Millenium Force and Top Thrill Dragster all you want, but Maverick will always win. The end. However, Cedar Point was a horrible company to work for and they treated employees like we were expendable and useless. Not the happiest place to work...so hopefully it's Disney this year for me!

I've been reading some of your blogs, and I've been watching even more of your vlogs. (Just a heads-up, I can be really sarcastic at times, don't take offense.) So...some things I've noticed:
  • You all like to mess with your hair a lot.
  • A lot of you also like to touch your face or put your chin on your fist, or something else along these lines.
  • You all like to stress over this process A LOT. Of course, I want to be accepted just as much as the rest of you do, but jeez, relax a bit ;)
Some more Disney related stuff:
  • My favorite Disney character is Piglet. I'm actually nothing like Piglet in real life, but he's such a heartwarming little fellow.
  • My favorite classic Disney movie is The Little Mermaid. (My mom actually went into labor with me when she was in the theater seeing this movie. Be jealous.)
  • My favorite Disney soundtrack is Tarzan. There are lots of others tied for second place, but I can never resist Phil Collins. I actually saw Tarzan on Broadway a few years back when I was in high school; it was spectacular!
  • I'm not a huge fan of older Disney movies. I love the 90s era, but I don't really Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, or Pinocchio.
  • I don't know tons of random Disney facts and trivia. But I do love the magic and the fun that the name 'Disney' represents.
  • I am a HUGE fan of old school DCOM movies from the Disney Channel. The name of my blog is a reference to one of my all-time favorite DCOM movies...can you guess what it is? (Without cheating and googling it.)
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better, and I'm hoping to see you all in a few months! Well, I wish all of you the best of luck!

Peace.
